Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, ranked second in the world, made a stunning comeback to secure a thrilling victory over Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, retaining his title at the French Open.
The final match of Roland Garros lasted five hours and 29 minutes, ending with a score of 4-6, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), and 7-6 (10-2).
In the longest final match since the start of the Open Era in 1968, Alcaraz added his fifth title to his collection, marking Sinner’s first loss in a Grand Slam final.
