China announced on Friday that the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, set to take place at the end of August, will focus on countering “hegemony and power politics” while working to strengthen peace and stability.
Deputy Foreign Minister Liu Bin said more than 20 foreign leaders are expected to attend, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
