Doctors Without Borders reported Thursday that Sudan’s Darfur region is experiencing its worst cholera outbreak in years, with 40 deaths recorded in a single week and over 2,300 treated patients.

The area is already reeling from over two years of armed conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

Since August 2023, the country has registered around 99,700 suspected cases and 2,470 deaths linked to the disease.
