Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Monday called on citizens to take part in mass demonstrations across the country on Wednesday, in response to accusations made by U.S. President Donald Trump.

In a post on the social media platform X, Petro urged Colombians to uphold national sovereignty, calling on people to raise the Colombian flag over their homes.

“We will gather in all public squares across Colombia this Wednesday at 4 p.m. It is time to defend national sovereignty,” he said.
