At least 20 people were killed and dozens were injured when Myanmar’s military launched an airstrike on an anti-government gathering in Chaung-U, Sagaing Region, during the Thadingyut Buddhist festival.
Eyewitnesses said the attack was carried out using motorized gliders, causing mass civilian casualties.
The town has been one of the hardest-hit areas since the 2021 military coup, as the junta intensifies air assaults on opposition strongholds.
