Ukraine’s Interior Ministry announced on Friday that the death toll from a Russian missile and drone strike on the capital Kyiv has climbed to 26, including three children. At least 156 people were also reported injured in the attack, which occurred on Thursday.

According to Ukrainian authorities, the strike involved both missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, causing widespread destruction and civilian casualties across several neighborhoods of the city.

Initial reports had put the death toll at 16, including two children, according to a statement cited by Agence France-Presse. The toll rose as rescue teams continued to recover bodies and provide aid to the wounded.

This marks one of the deadliest single attacks on Kyiv in recent months, amid intensifying Russian assaults on Ukrainian urban centers.ذ
