The number of people killed in the severe floods and landslides on Indonesia’s Sumatra island has risen to 79, the Meteorology and Climatology Agency reported.

Around 100 individuals remain missing as emergency teams search devastated areas.

Thousands of homes and buildings have been submerged, forcing large-scale displacement as heavy rains continue and weather warnings persist for multiple affected regions.
