Displaced Families Begin Returning to Syria’s Sweida After Tribal Clashes

Hundreds of residents have started returning to their homes in Syria’s southern Sweida province, nearly two months after intense fighting between Druze groups and Bedouin tribes forced mass displacement.

Local authorities confirmed that about 600 Arab Bedouins have gone back to their houses in the village of al-Qasr following the restoration of relative calm.

The province witnessed a week-long wave of deadly clashes in July that left hundreds dead and displaced thousands, before a ceasefire agreement came into force on July 19.
