The Qatari capital will host the decisive preliminary round of the regional football championship on Tuesday and Wednesday, featuring 14 teams. Seven winners will qualify to join nine teams that have already secured their spots in the tournament.
Tuesday’s fixtures include Kuwait vs. Mauritania, Palestine vs. Libya, and Syria vs. South Sudan. Wednesday will feature four matches: Bahrain vs. Djibouti, Oman vs. Somalia, Yemen vs. Comoros, and Lebanon vs. Sudan.
Qatar will host the main tournament from December 1 to 18 with 16 teams, playing in stadiums that were used for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, continuing the sporting momentum in the capital.
