Egypt began their Africa Cup of Nations 2025 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Zimbabwe in their Group A opener at Adrar Stadium on Monday.

Zimbabwe took the lead in the 20th minute through Prince Dube, who scored from close range, before Omar Marmoush equalised for Egypt in the 64th minute with a strike inside the box.

Mohamed Salah then sealed the win for Egypt with a late goal in stoppage time, giving the Pharaohs all three points in their opening match of the tournament.
