Star forward Mohamed Salah led Egypt to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Djibouti 3–0 in the ninth round of African qualifiers.

Salah scored twice, and Ibrahim Adel added a third in the match held in Casablanca, Morocco.

The win secured Egypt’s top spot in Group A with 23 points, one round before the end of the qualifiers.

This marks Egypt’s fourth appearance at the World Cup, following its previous participations in 1934, 1990, and 2018.
