Polling stations opened on Friday for the 2025 Egyptian Senate elections, allowing Egyptians residing abroad to cast their votes. Voting is taking place at Egyptian embassies and consulates worldwide as part of the country’s broader electoral schedule.
According to the official timeline set by the National Elections Authority, initial results for the first round are expected to be announced on August 12, coinciding with the start of campaigning for the runoff elections.
A second campaign silence period will begin on August 24 ahead of the runoff voting abroad, scheduled for August 25 and 26. The runoff elections within Egypt will follow on August 27 and 28.
These elections mark an important step in Egypt’s constitutional and institutional processes, with electoral authorities emphasizing the smooth and transparent conduct of voting both domestically and internationally.
