Eight Arab and Muslim countries issued a joint statement on Monday welcoming what they described as the “sincere efforts” of U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
The statement was signed by the foreign ministers of Turkey, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt.
It praised Trump’s leadership and expressed confidence in his determination to find a path toward peace.
The announcement came after Trump, speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlined key elements of his 20-point plan to halt the conflict, including the release of Israeli hostages and the disarmament of Hamas.
