Israel evacuates its border settlements with Lebanon

Israel announced a plan today, Monday, to evacuate residents of settlements located on the border with Lebanon. This decision comes in the aftermath of the killing of an Israeli officer due to an attack carried out by the Lebanese Hezbollah. Tensions have escalated between the two sides, leading to mutual attacks, all of this occurring in the context of Israel’s continued airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

According to an official statement issued by the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the army, residents of the border areas in northern Israel who live within two kilometers of the Lebanese border will be evacuated and relocated to other locations. It’s worth noting that one of these settlements, specifically Shetula, was subjected to a rocket attack by Hezbollah yesterday, resulting in the death of a civilian.
