A high-level delegation from the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, including Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau in the interior, and Khaled Mashaal, the head of the political bureau abroad, arrived in Cairo today, according to a statement issued by the movement.

The statement noted that the delegation held a meeting with Major General Abbas Kamel, the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence, where they discussed the current situation in the Gaza Strip, which is governed by Hamas.

Egyptian media sources reported, citing informed sources, that Egypt is nearing a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to exchange prisoners and detainees, indicating intensive communications for this purpose.
