Diplomatic Talks Resume: Armenia and Azerbaijan Discuss Border Demarcation

Armenia and Azerbaijan have resumed a new round of negotiations on Thursday regarding the demarcation of their shared borders. This comes amid stalled peace talks between the two in the Caucasus region. These negotiations are considered a sensitive period, often witnessing escalations in tension and armed incidents along their official borders.
The spokesperson for the Armenian committee, Ani Babayan, informed foreign media that the Armenian and Azerbaijani committees responsible for border demarcation have initiated the fifth round of discussions. He added that these committees are chaired, respectively, by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Shahin Mustafayev.
The conflict between Baku and Yerevan has been marked by tension for decades, particularly over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, an Azerbaijani territory. The conflict intensified in September when Azerbaijan swiftly regained control of the area following a rapid offensive against Armenian separatists.
