Saudi Arabia Secures Hosting Rights for UNIDO’s 21st Annual Conference in 2025

Based on a unanimous decision by the member states, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won the right to host the twenty-first annual conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization “UNIDO”. The conference is scheduled to take place in the capital city, Riyadh, in November 2025. The victory was secured through a vote involving 172 member countries during the twentieth conference held in Vienna, Austria.
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef emphasized that winning the bid to host the general conference of UNIDO’s twenty-first session is an international recognition of Saudi Arabia’s position as a driver of economic growth and manufacturing in the region.
Alkhorayef highlighted that hosting this conference in the Kingdom provides an opportunity to showcase its role as a regional leader in basic and transformative industries, given its advanced industrial systems.
It is anticipated that more than 1500 participants will attend the general conference scheduled to be held in the Kingdom, including representatives from UNIDO member states, international organizations, and the private sector.
