The African Summit is expecting critical files

The heads of state and union administrations will be present at the African Summit, which will take place in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, on February 17 and 18. Addis Ababa is also home to the headquarters of the African Union.

 

During the summit, several topics will be covered, such as the union’s institutional reforms, the state of peace and security in Africa, the UN Security Council’s reform, the Palestine crisis, and the Libyan case.

The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, along with several other officials, including Ambassador Mike Hammer, the US Special Envoy to Africa, will be present at this summit.

The executive secretary of the International Governmental Authority on Development, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres are among the well-known leaders of international organizations anticipated to attend the summit.
