Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of Egypt, received an invitation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to travel to Turkey in April.
Erdogan referred to the invitation as the start of fresh relations between Ankara and Cairo and mentioned that more detailed bilateral talks would follow.
Following Erdogan’s visit to Cairo on Wednesday, the two presidents held a joint press conference during which the offer was extended.
During their visit, the two leaders talked about several similar issues, including the war in Gaza and the Libyan situation, but the most significant one was increasing economic ties between the two nations to $15 billion.
