Steps Taken to Reactivate Ras Jedir Border: Libya-Tunisia Cooperation.

The Libyan Government of National Unity’s Ministry of Interior declared on Sunday evening that processes for reopening the Ras Jedir border crossing with Tunisia had begun.

The Ministry of Interior said that the security committee constituted to restore operations at the Ras Jedir border crossing with Tunisia has begun work at the border.

The committee is chaired by the head of the Criminal Investigations Department and comprises the Director of Traffic and Licensing Administration, the Director of Border Post, and the Head of Passport Control.

According to a ministry statement, the committee met with Tunisian Border Police officials in the presence of the Libyan Consul in Sfax and members of the Customs Service to prepare arrangements for facilitating the movement of crossing vehicles between the two countries, establishing a mechanism for registering crossing vehicles, and addressing the causes of congestion for both inbound and outbound traffic.
