Chad’s new President is Mohamed Idriss Déby.

According to the National Electoral Management Agency, Mohamed Idriss Déby, the transitional president of Chad, won the presidential elections held on May 6 with 61% of the vote.

The agency emphasized that Déby received 61.3% of the vote, far beyond the 50% barrier required to avoid a second round.

Prime Minister and opposition candidate Sokséh Masrah received 18.53% of the vote.
