International Court of Justice: Israel must halt military operations in Rafah

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled on Friday that Israel must cease its military operations or any other actions in the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip
The court also called on Israel to open the Rafah crossing for the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
The ICJ ruling came against the backdrop of a petition filed by South Africa to order Israel to cease fire in Gaza.
The ICJ’s judgments are binding, but have been ignored in the past because the court has no executive powers.
