UN:Some 45,000 Rohingya have fled fighting in Myanmar

The United Nations has warned that escalating fighting in Myanmar’s conflict-torn Rakhine state has forced some 45,000 Rohingya minority people to flee due to killings and the burning of property in the state.
Spokeswoman for the UN human rights office Elizabeth Throssell told reporters in Geneva
Nearly 45,000 Rohingya have fled to an area on the Naf River near the border with Bangladesh in search of safety.
Rakhine state has been witnessing clashes since Arakan Army rebels launched an attack on the ruling military group’s forces last November, canceling a ceasefire that had largely held since the military coup in 2021.
