Rafael Nadal bows out of Roland Garros in the first round

Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal bowed out of Roland Garros in the first round for the first time in his career, losing to Germany’s Alexander Zverev in three sets.
Zverev, the world number four, defeated the record holder in the tournament.
The 14-time champion suffered his fourth career defeat at Roland Garros against 112 victories.
Nadal has played just four tournaments since January 2023 after undergoing hip surgery and then suffering a muscle tear that saw him drop in the ATP World Tour rankings.
