UK Parliament officially dissolved, paving the way for a general election in July

The dissolution of the British Parliament officially came into effect on Thursday, paving the way for a general election to be held on 4 July.
The move follows Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s decision last week to announce an early general election in Britain.
All 650 seats in Parliament are now vacant.
The five-week-long election campaign for parliamentary candidates began today.
