US court convicts Trump on all financial charges

A jury in New York on Thursday convicted former President Donald Trump on all 34 charges of falsifying financial documents.
The guilty verdict comes just five months before the presidential election in which the Republican candidate is seeking to return to the presidency of the United States of America.
Trump will become the first former US president to be criminally convicted, although the judgment will not prevent him from continuing his campaign.
The US Constitution does not prohibit former presidents from serving as presidents.
The judge set Trump’s sentencing for 11 July, just days before the Republicans chose him as their candidate for 2024.
