Slovenian parliament officially recognises the State of Palestine

Slovenia’s parliament voted on Tuesday to approve a motion to recognise the State of Palestine in a move the legislature said it hoped would help stop the violence in Gaza.
The decree was approved by 52 members, with opposition MPs boycotting the session and one abstention.
Slovenia, currently a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, is the fourth European country after Spain, Norway and Ireland to officially recognise the State of Palestine.
