According to official media reports, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of at least 4 people and left dozens injured in northeastern Iran.
The powerful earthquake struck the city of Kashmar at 13:24 local time (09:54 GMT), as reported by state television quoting local governor Hojatoleslam Shiriantamadari. Shiriantamadari stated that the earthquake injured 120 people, with 35 of them transported to hospitals.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred approximately 5 kilometers from the city of Mogan in Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran, at a depth of 6 kilometers.
