The renowned French artist Anouk Aimée passed away today at the age of 92 at her home in the suburbs of Paris.
She had a rich and successful artistic career, gaining international fame for her role in the film “A Man and a Woman,” which won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1977. This role also earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and an Academy Award nomination.
Anouk Aimée, whose real name was Françoise Dreyfus, is considered one of the most iconic figures in 20th-century French cinema.
She starred alongside legendary names in both French and Italian cinema, including Jacques Demy “Lola”, Federico Fellini “La Dolce Vita”, Marco Bellocchio, Jacques Becker, and André Cayatte, who launched her career in 1949 with the film “Les Amants de Vérone” “Lovers of Verona”.
