Heatwave kills 52 people in India

The heat wave sweeping across northern India has led to the death of at least 52 people in the Indian capital New Delhi.
The Times of India reported that 52 bodies have arrived at hospitals in the past two days.
The Ministry of Health has asked institutions in various Indian states to ensure immediate care for the sick, and has directed hospitals to provide more beds.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that temperatures will continue to exceed the normal range during the month of June.

India has recorded more than 40,000 suspected cases of heatstroke this summer and 110 confirmed deaths between 1 March and 18 June as a result of the heatwave in several parts of the country.
