Libyan sources reported the outbreak of violent clashes at dawn on Friday between armed militias in the “Al-Rukaina” area in the city of “Al-Zawiya”.
The sources said that the clashes took place between the “Al-Kabwat” militia, which belongs to Othman Al-Lahab, commander of “Battalion 103”, and elements of another militia led by Riyadh Belhaj, inside the neighbourhoods of the city of “Al-Zawiya”.
The same sources confirmed that a state of tension prevails in the city of Al-Zawiya, 42 kilometres from the capital Tripoli.
The clashes resulted in 3 deaths and a number of injuries.
