European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has won another term in office under an agreement between Europe’s major political parties, German news agency DPA reported.
Former Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa was named president of the European Council and Estonian Prime Minister Kaia Kallas was put in charge of EU foreign policy.
The trio had been widely expected to take the posts, but EU leaders had yet to agree on the package when they met for a formal dinner last week.
The leaders are due to discuss the matter again at a summit in Brussels on Thursday and Friday.
