Talks between representatives of Afghanistan’s Taliban government and UN officials began in the Qatari capital Doha on Sunday, a UN spokesman said.

The two-day UN-sponsored meeting is the third round of talks hosted by Qatar in almost a year, but the first to include the Taliban authorities.
UN officials and more than 20 envoys, including the US special representative for Afghanistan, will meet with a Taliban government delegation led by spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, AFP reported.
Counter-narcotics and economic issues are on the agenda.
