Egypt’s new government, led by Mostafa Madbouly, was sworn in today by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The formation of the new government included the appointment of two deputy prime ministers and major changes to ministerial portfolios.
General Abdel Meguid Saqr was appointed Minister of Defence, replacing General Mohamed Zaki, and Major General Mahmoud Tawfik was reappointed Minister of Interior. Ambassador Badr Abdel Aty was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs after the ministry was merged with the Ministry of Immigration
