The Labour Party, led by Keir Starmer, has won an outright majority in the House of Commons, according to media reports.
Labour won 332 of the 650 seats, compared to 72 for the Conservatives, 41 for the Liberal Democrats and 22 for other parties.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conceded defeat in the general election minutes before the media announced Labour’s victory.
Sonak is expected to announce his resignation soon, paving the way for Starmer to become the new Prime Minister, following a meeting with King Charles III.
