The first session of the Sudanese Political and Civil Forces Conference opened today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, as part of an Egyptian initiative to find ways to end the Sudanese conflict and stop the hostilities that have left thousands dead and wounded in Sudan.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has invited “more than 50 leaders of political and civil forces in Sudan”.
Participants include Abdullah Hamdok, head of the Civil Democratic Forces Commission (Progress), Fadlalla Barmah Nasser, head of the Executive Bureau of the Federal Rally Party, Babiker Faisal, head of the Sudanese Congress Party, Omar al-Dakir, head of the Sudanese Congress Party, and Kamal Bolad, head of the Baath Party.
