French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday rejected the resignation of Prime Minister Gabriel Atal and asked him to remain in office for the time being, the Elysee presidential palace said.
President Macron asked Attal to remain in office “for the time being to ensure the stability of the country”, the Elysee said. French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced his intention to submit his resignation to the French President on Monday morning in a speech outside the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday evening, following the expected election results that made his party the second largest in the French parliament.
