US President Joe Biden and NATO leaders will hold a three-day summit in Washington today (Tuesday) to mark the alliance’s 75th anniversary.
According to US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin, the summit will discuss ways to enhance the deterrence and joint defence capabilities of NATO members, deepen the exceptional transatlantic relationship, and promote common security.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg noted that the summit will take decisions to strengthen the alliance’s defence capabilities and collective deterrence, and called on member states to increase their defence spending.
