Mali’s ruling junta announced on Wednesday that it was allowing political parties and associations to resume their activities after banning them since 10 April, AFP reported.
At the end of a cabinet meeting, the military-controlled government said it had “decided to lift the suspension imposed on political parties and the political activities of associations”.
On 10 April, Mali’s military junta announced a decision to suspend the activities of political parties and associations “until further notice”, blaming them for acts of sabotage in the country.
The military junta has been running the country since 2020, after overthrowing the civilian president, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.
