US, South Korea sign ‘joint nuclear deterrence plan

The United States and South Korea have signed a joint nuclear deterrence plan to enhance cooperation ‘against North Korea’s growing nuclear and missile threats’.

According to a statement released by the South Korean presidential office on Thursday evening, the two countries’ top defence officials signed a joint nuclear deterrence plan to enhance cooperation “against Pyongyang’s growing nuclear and missile threats” on the Korean peninsula.
US President Joe Biden and South Korean President Yun Sook-yeol, who met on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington, described the move against North Korea as “great progress”.
