Former US President Donald Trump has arrived in Milwaukee, in the northeastern United States, where he will be formally announced as the Republican Party’s nominee for November’s presidential election, a day after an assassination attempt on his life.

Television footage showed Trump’s plane at the airport near Milwaukee, where the Republican National Convention will begin later in the day.
The Republican Party is holding its convention in Wisconsin from 15 to 18 July to nominate Trump, 78, as the party’s official candidate for the US presidential election.
