Four people were killed and several others injured in a shooting near a mosque in Oman’s Al Wadi Al Kabir region, Omani police said in a statement on Tuesday.
The incident is a rare breach of security in one of the Middle East’s most stable countries.
The Omani police said in a statement that they had dealt with a shooting incident near a mosque in the Al-Wadi Al-Kabeer area which, according to preliminary information, left four people dead and a number of others injured.
The police added that all security measures and procedures had been taken to deal with the situation and that an investigation had been launched into the incident.
