US Vice President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race in the United States on Sunday.
Biden said he was giving his full support and backing to Kamala Harris to be the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate this year.
In a statement posted on his account on the X platform, Biden said: “It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve as president of the American people.”

“While I had intended to run for re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to step aside and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
