Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived in China on Saturday afternoon for an official visit aimed at boosting trade ties and addressing the war in Ukraine, Chinese state media said.

It is Meloni’s first visit to the Asian country since taking office in 2022.

During her five-day visit, which ends next Wednesday, the Italian official will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, Beijing said, according to AFP.
