US, Germany urge citizens to leave Lebanon

America on Monday urged its citizens to leave Lebanon before any crisis breaks out, while Germany called on its citizens to “urgently” leave the Middle Eastern country amid rising tensions between the occupation and Hezbollah.
The US embassy in Beirut urged its citizens to “leave Lebanon before any crisis begins”, according to a post on the embassy’s account on the “X” platform.

“US citizens in Lebanon are reminded to register for STEP and other preparedness recommendations to keep you and your loved ones safe,” read a message from Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Rena Peter posted on X.

Germany urged its citizens to leave Lebanon as a matter of urgency for fear of being harmed and urged all parties to “de-escalate”.

“We advise German citizens to leave Lebanon asa matter of urgency,” a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
