Iran’s new President Masoud Bazeshkian was sworn in as the ninth president of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday before the Iranian people’s representatives in the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
According to IRNA, President Bazeshkian pledged to use all his energies and capabilities to fulfil the presidential duties entrusted to him by the Iranian people.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by senior officials in Iran and hundreds of delegations from many countries around the world, and was widely covered by local and international media.
On Sunday, Iranian leader Ali Khamenei ratified the appointment of Masoud Bazeshkian as president of Iran, after he won the second round of the presidential election on the 6th of this month against his conservative rival Saeed Jalili, to become the country’s ninth president.
