Turkey will submit its application to join the genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Üncü Kılıçdaroğlu said on Wednesday.
Turkey’s ambassador to the Dutch city of The Hague, Selçuk Ünal, will submit the application to the ICJ, Kılıçdaroğlu said via his X account on Wednesday.
He emphasised that the application was prepared in a very comprehensive and detailed manner and was based on Article 63 of the ICJ’s Statute.
At the end of December 2023, South Africa submitted an application to the ICJ against Israel for violating the 1948 UN Genocide Convention.
