Mali’s military junta on Friday gave Sweden’s ambassador 72 hours to leave the country after a Swedish minister spoke of his country’s support for Russia.

Mali’s foreign ministry wrote on X website: “The Swedish ambassador in Bamako was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today and given 72 hours to leave the territory of Mali.” Sweden’s international co-operation minister for development and trade Johan Forsell said on Wednesday that the government had decided to gradually stop aid to Mali because of the junta’s support for Russia. According to AFP
