According to Najla Abrouki, a member of Tunisia’s electoral commission, “the commission’s board will meet tomorrow, Saturday, to discuss and decide on the files of candidates for the presidential elections (17 candidacy files).
The Electoral Commission will then hold a press conference on Saturday evening to announce the list of preliminarily accepted candidates.
It is worth noting that the Tunisian Electoral Commission has been studying and deciding on the candidacy files for the presidential elections since 7 August until Saturday, 10 August.
Seventeen candidates, led by incumbent President Kais Saeed, are running in the elections to be held on 6 October.
