Colombia’s government stepped up security at the Supreme Court on Friday after a plot to attack its headquarters in the capital Bogota was uncovered, officials said.
A search of two properties in the south of the capital turned up a model of the Supreme Court along with explosives and ammunition, Supreme Court President Gerson Chavira told a news conference, AFP reported.
In a statement, the Colombian presidency announced the deployment of advanced surveillance systems.
Sophisticated surveillance systems, anti-explosive equipment and drones will be deployed around the court. Security measures will also be taken around the country’s other courts.
